about

Occultists presents its fourth installment in the Book Of Shadows: Various Spells series. Prepare yourself for a journey through mesmerizing atmospheres, eerie voices and irresistible beats.

ORACLE666 welcomes us with “Drawing Down The Moon” and its placid soundscapes informed by futuristic visions and captivating vocals. Next up Scorpion Warrior and Ether Arkon collaborate in “Silence”, an engaging goth affair, where throbbing rhythms and soulful vocal deliveries become one.

Returning Occultists alumni Erica Mar plays with rhythmic patterns and hard kicks in “Ruin Me Or I Will Ruin Myself”, adding hypnotizing synth lines in good measure to showcase her one of a kind sound this time taking the listener directly to the dance floor. Following her newcomers House OV Awakening seduces us with “Love Not Fear” and its growing tension made of sharp distortions and crawling movements. An ominous voice guides the course until chaos conquers all.

Søulless delivers his peculiar brand of techno music in “1909”, an industrial-tinged affair rich in textures and obsessive basslines. Then a guest spot from Corresponding Position’s label head Monya and her track “Stucked” guide us in a game of broken rhythms and compulsive bass sounds, a mechanical ballet for lost souls.

As we move towards the end of our latest grimoire of spells, label high priest James Demon presents “Scully's Revenge”, an oldschool techno number with mesmerizing lines and straightforward rhythmic attacks enriched by steady snare sounds. Taking things just a bit darker, Thrae and A Birth Defect conspire together in “Abyss Of Darkness”, an acid affair with nightmarish atmospheres and robust kick drums.

The final chapter in our book of shadows welcomes Russian techno import, Vanya Koreya who ends the journey with “Catastrofa” and its chaotic brand of techno music with noisy elements and droning rides for a digital age.

The listener of Occultists latest compilation of sonic wonders will find himself in an ever-evolving and ever-changing tale made of music, where he will lose and find himself at the same time.
